South Mountain Photo Album - Page 1

(If you can, widen up your window to fit two pictures across - it looks better)

Here's two incredible sunrise photos taken on our way up to Corona Loma peak.  It was August when these were taken, so it was hot even at this hour (about 6:00am).  It was worth it, though, as the scenery was incredible.

Here's another shot taken on the way up to Corona Loma.  This time, the rising sun was behind us.  The 2nd photo above is from a different hike.  This time we planned on hiking to the top of the tallest peak in the southeast corner of the park.  The mountain we eventually summited didn't have an official name so we named it McCaffrey Peak (a.k.a. Juan's Grande).   So here's a shot on Brenda by the "hole in the rock" while on our way to Juan's Grande.

"I'm the King of the World!!!"  We made it to the summit...and if you look really close on that 2nd telephoto shot taken from the summit, you can see our house below (of course, you have to know where to look!).  The third shot shows John standing by a huge saguaro cactus near the summit of McCaffrey Peak.
