My wife for nearly 33 years, Donna, is still trying to find time to work on her own web page, which she has parked over in our AOL account.
I'm not sure who that old bald guy is over here on the left - he reminds me of my dad from about 30 years ago. Well, at least I replaced the unrealistic picture of me wearing a necktie. Like most computer geeks, I suppose 'normal' people (whatever they are) consider my assorted interests and hobbies rather weird, but that's their problem.
When my job as a polymer chemist at a large corporation (which at times makes Dilbert appear to be vastly understated) permits, I enjoy Myers-Briggs Temperament Index-style of Type-watching. (I'll squeeze in some links later - let me get my page approximated for now). (I'm an xNtP)
While our protracted Michigan winter dominates, I (as time permits) play around with cryptograms, and with math and logic puzzles. Competing in AOL's math contest was once a source of great personal pleasure, to say nothing of the 'free' hours I won, but AOL moved it, and I can no longer find it. Besides, I had great difficulty getting home from work in time to beat everyone else to the first answer to all but the most difficult of puzzles.
During the few months of the year that the ground is not frozen, Donna and I chase wild mushrooms.
The incredible beauty of fractal mathematics (still under construction) has also consumed me during 'available' moments, but the family never liked the way it consumed computer time - though surfing the Web has pretty much taken over the computer nowadays.
On occasion I am fortunate enough to get called to serve as a lay preacher. I have been looking for a page for Certified Lay Speakers in the
United Methodist Church, and haven't found one yet. Perhaps it's because of our Lay Speaker's motto:
Maybe I'll have to start one by myself - Yeah, right, and it will be finished when...
