Welcome to

...a non-commercial web site that chronicles the travels of John & Brenda McCaffrey.  We're just two regular Joe's who love to travel.  And when we're not traveling, we're spending most of our time planning our next trip. So join us on our excellent adventures!

We first established this site in the spring of 1996 just prior to our departure on the original 'Excellent Adventure'.  That trip was an extensive two month excursion through the American west where we visited every major National Park in the region.  We originally set up the web site as a vehicle to send pictures and stories to friends during the long trip.  As we traveled, we uploaded new pictures and commentary every Sunday night from our cheesy Mac laptop and kept in two-way contact with family and friends via e-mail.  That original adventure can still be viewed on-line, but we now have several new travelogues available for your viewing enjoyment.  Our latest effort is a summary of several trips taken during the Summer of 1998.  Enjoy the show!

The Original 1996 Adventure: John & Brenda's Excellent Adventure

May 15-July 12, 1996 - Our TWO MONTH, 9000 mile driving trip visiting nearly every National Park in the Western U.S. and Canada.  Among other things, you'll see the giant redwoods in California, Crater Lake in Oregon, the British-influences in Victoria British Columbia, the incredible peaks of Glacier National Park in Montana, the bizarre geothermal activity at Yellowstone in Wyoming and the incredible throngs of people at Mt. Our '97 Adventure: Le Petit Adventure d'Excellence

Aug 2-16, 1997 - Our two week trip through Eastern Canada and Maine. Sights included the awesome Niagara Falls, bustling Toronto, French-influenced Montreal, historic Quebec City and relaxing Moosehead Lake in Maine.  Start the guided tour

 

Our Adventures in Early '98:

John & Brenda's Asian Adventure:  Jan 7-23, 1998 - Our two and a half week excursion into the heart of Asia: Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Beijing, China.  See Beijing's Tiananmen Square, the Great Wall of China, the Hong Kong skyline and the Singapore Zoo. Start the guided tour

J&B's Mini-Adventure in Tucson:  Mar 13-16, 1998 - Our brief weekend getaway into Southern Arizona.  You'll see the wildflowers on Picacho Peak, the supposed "Wine Country of Arizona" (two wineries), and the artsy community of Tubac, not to mention the scenic mountain views in the foothills of Tucson.  Start the guided tour
