(Widen up your window to fit two pictures across - it looks better)

Here's a Prairie Dog at Custer State Park. These little guys are all over the place. The 2nd photo shows Brenda on a bluff overlooking Custer State Park along the Prairie Hiking Trail.

After Custer, we stopped in for a tour of Wind Cave National Park. Wind Cave is officially the 3rd Longest Cave in the US with over 70 miles of tunnels logged to date. It is believed that these 70 miles only account for 5% of the overall cave size (they believe this because of pressure readings taken above and below the surface of the cave). Therefore, they think that the total length of the cave's tunnels is over 1000 miles! Whoa! By the way, the 2nd shot above was an attempt to take a photo inside the cave.

And, after we left Wind Cave, we went on to The Mammoth Site. See John's Impressions for more on this site, but it is truly impressive. Here's some shots of some various bone collections. The 1st skeleton was named Marie Antoinette, because they could not locate the head in the vicinity of the rest of the skeleton (those archeologists are just a bunch of comedians aren't they). The 2nd photo shows a well preserved skull and tusks.
