Animals are being abused all over the world. Only the most brutal, heinous crimes against animals are getting press. If you know of a case of animal abuse that needs to be heard, please E-mail me and let me know. I will make a banner to place here with a link to the page. The more we get these cases out to people the more people will realize that the animal community is outraged at the poor treatment of animals and the poor legislation in some states and countries that allow this outrage to continue.

This past summer, tragedy struck the Strays Halfway House in Illinois. Two kittens, Cirrus and Crookshanks, had been placed in what everyone thought would be their perfect, forever home. Their foster mom asked all of the right questions of the woman who came to adopt these two adorable babies. She sent the kittens to their new home with their toys and supplies, but the house they went to turned into a torture chamber for these two babies. They were denied food and water. They were beaten and tortured. Only Crookshanks survived. Please read their story here. These two innocent kittens fell into evil hands and we must remember, no matter how we feel about the homes we place animals in, we must check back with them, check on them. The only reason that Crookshanks survived this horrible experience was through the intervention of his beloved foster mom.

Animal abuse is an outrage and the people who perpetrate these heinous crimes are monsters and criminals who need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Pleae join the Animals' Hope Petition Team in expressing your outrage at the sickening situations we hear of all too frequently. Make your voice heard for the sake of the animals.

"From being revered and worshipped as gods in Egypt, to being slaughtered almost to extinction in Europe during the middle ages, to being the pampered "pets" of today. But in actuality, who is the pet of whom? Looking into wise golden eyes and falling back through the centuries, sometimes we need to wonder if these captivating creatures might not have the upper paw in our relationships. Eyes glowing with satisfaction, mouth slightly upturned at the corners in a grin of almost human amusement, they preside over our households, napping innocently in golden rays of sunshine during the day, and when evening falls, reigning in our night dark houses, keeping mice and imaginary monsters at bay."
Obviously a very wise human.

Awareness of the plight of the animals we so love is growing by leaps and bounds. People like all of us are spreading the word of what is needed to help these poor unfortunate animals, whether they be strays, unwanted, or abandoned. No-Kill shelters are growing all over the country, people are starting to care. If you know of a shelter that faces closure please email us so that we may put their banner here in hopes that increasing public awareness will keep us from losing one of our lights in the darkness.

Well, it looks as though the guestbook I had set up through Guestworld is now defunct. Which means that all the messages from all of the wonderful
people who had signed my previous guestbook are now lost in the mists of
time to the monstrous void of the eternal internet... or something like that.
BUT! Here's a backup plan. Below is the XOOM counter I installed when I first
put this page up, and lo and behold... (to quote the illustrious Data) TADA!!! There's a guestbook there! So please feel free to click on the link above or on "Guestbook" below to sign and view what's there. My thanks in advance to
everyone who signs it and my hearty thanks to XOOM for being so reliable.
ACK!! I guess I shouldn't have said that XOOM was so bloody reliable. Check this one out, if you would. I don't know of anyone who's had problems with a Dreambook. :)
