Fall 1996 Dedicated To Waste Reduction And Job Skill Training
ReCycle North donated over $20,000 worth of vital household goods to families in poverty or with emergency needs. These donations of items such as refrigerators, stoves, pots and pans go directly to hard working families. ReCycle North makes decisions based on need and is guided by referrals from such organizations as COTS, the Howard Center for Humans Services and Women Helping Battered Women.
ReCycle North also made frequent contributions to area non-profits, schools, and community initiatives. For example, ReCycle North helped a school in Poultney outfit a life skills center for students with developmental disabilities. Students will use the home appliances ReCycle North donated to gain independent living skills.
