This message describes the
Internet MailBack service and why you might consider setting one up.
Several examples are provided.
- What is Internet MailBack?
You probably received
this message using our MailBack service. This type of service is
often called an auto-response system. It works very simply. Any of
the 30 million people with internet email send any message to your
MailBack address. They would then receive back a predefined message.
For example, anyone who sends a message to mailback-info@mailcall.com
recieves back this message.
- How would an Internet MailBack work for you?
You
would define an address for your MailBack. (See below for more
details.) For example, your address might be mycompany-info. You
would then send us the text file of the message you want sent out. Then
you would advertise the address of mycompany-info@mailcall.com
in your literature.
- Can't I just send our responses myself to people who write us?
MailBack makes it more convient than doing it yourself.
Sure, you could do it yourself, but MailBack does it automatically and
promptly. This frees up your time.
- What type of information is Internet MailBack service used for?
- Resumes. In seeking a job online you can make your resume
available by letting people know it is at yourname-resume@mailcall.com
- Info. General information is often needed by the public
about an organization, company, product or service. If people want to
know more, let them ask with your MailBack.
- Catalog. Provide a updated catalog online. A nice
supplement to your printed catalog. Might even include specials not
otherwise available from your company.
- Index. Given the variety of information you have made
available online, this can be a resource or pointer to all of your
information.
- Events. Consumers, sports fans and businesses want to
know when certain events are scheduled. Signings at bookstores in
the area, schedule for a sports team or a listing of seminars.
- Flyer. Take your brochures and flyers and make them
available to the world on internet. Excellent way to provide the most
recent information even to people who have your most recent flyer.
- Newsletters. Take all or part of your newsletter and make
it available. Perhaps you would use or MailCall service to send it out
on a regular basis to subscribers, but others may just want a sample or
to see it ocassionally. Make sure to add the information about how to
subscribe.
- Forms. Take application forms and post them. For example,
if you want to start a MailBack service, our form is available by

- Info of the month. Send our a new receipe every month, or
health tip, marketing idea. Keep your name in front of your customers.
- Spec sheets. Send our a product specification sheet.
- Who would use MailBack servies?
Internet MailBack
is useful for indivuals, organizations and large companies.
- Individuals. Request their resumes using their MailBack
service.
- Writers. Want the world to read your novel? See your
sports columns? Bare your soul to the world?
- Non-Profit Organization. As part of their charter, they
make available information. They have a general information MailBack
which describes the organization, its charter and how you can
contribute. If also informs people about their MailBack catalog.
- Mail Order Company. The process of printing and mailing
can often make information out of date. Or if only a small quantity
of a product is available, it is not worth making a special mailing.
Specials and updates to their catalog are made available through a
MailBack. It also tells customers how to obtain the printed catalog.
- Politicians. While you certainly don't want politicans
'pasting' their literature all over internet, it is still important
to know their views on the issues. Voters can obtain white papers,
position papers, flyers and schedules from their MailBack service.
- Association. New members are always sought for this
association. In their MailCall service, they put information about
their charter and an application for membership. They also have the
email address in case you have any further questions. They are
considering putting their newsletter on a MailBack serice.
- Marketing departments. You always need marketing surveys
prior to releasing a new product or service.
- Companies. Provide corporate annual and quarterly
financial reports to those who request them.
- What does someone need to partipate in a MailBack service?
An internet address is all that is needed. It could be on a
BBS, from an internet provider or even a commercial service like Prodigy
or American Online. Just send a message and you get one back.
- What is the price to establish a MailBack service?
There
is a setup charge for starting a MailBack account and a quarterly charge
for maintaining the account. The setup fee is $50 which includes the
first three months of maintaining the account. The quarterly
maintance fee is $25.
- Are there any limits to the MailBack service?
The fee
is based on sending less than 15MB of files per quarter. That is the
equivalent of 500 messages of 400 lines each. This size message if the
equivalent of a good size newsletter of eight pages. Obviously the size
of your message will dictate how may retrievals there can be before
exceeding the limit. If your exceed the limit, you will be charged $25
for an additional 15MB of requests for the quarter.
- How do I change my MailBack message?
When you
establish your account you will receive special instructions on how to
change your MailBack message. You will change your message through
email and there is security to make sure that only you can make any
changes.
- Okay, I want to start an Internet MailBack account. How do I
start?
Just complete the application. Then email it to us, fax it or send it through the
post office.
